THIRD DERBY KAYAK CHALLENGE RACE Saturday August 1, 2009, Louisville, KY The derby kayak challenge will be a different type of race this year. The goal is to have lots of fun competing on a 5k paddle race, the 5k meet will be followed by a relay race. The race will be held at Shelby lake. Shelby Lake is a lake in Shelby County in the state of Kentucky. (For directions to the lake please click on Shelby lake, at the bottom of that page click on map) The racers will meet at 8:30 am for safety instructions, the race will begin at 9am. The meet will be followed by a relay race. We will pair the fastest with the slowest paddler to level the playing field. The cost of the race is $ 3 payable to the lake administrator upon entering the park. Please mark your calendars for August 1, 2009. Hope you can join us Derbykayak challenge organizers.
